It appears to be a cup in which liquids or chemicals could be heated, although I don't know for sure.       It measures 4 5/8" long, including the handles; diameter across the top opening is 1 7/8". Height of the cup is 1 1/4"; diameter of the round flat bottom is 1".       This cup is almost certainly silverplate, as it seems to have tarnished the way silverplate does. Other than the tarnish, it is in very good used condition, with no dents, pitting, etc.       The letter D is stamped into the underside.
